1740(Clydebank) Squadron

Another event that cadets and staff enjoy is Road Marching. Road Marching can be physically challenging, but its also fun and thrilling activity for cadets to enjoy. Cadets and staff will have to march/walk a certain distance to achieve badges or the qualification.

Distances Include:

• For Blue - 15km then progressively increases to 20km and 25km

• For Bronze - 40km over 2 days

• For Silver - 80km over 2 days 

• For Gold - Four day Event and distance is relevant to age group 

• For Nijmegen - Four days in the Netherlands and distance is relevant to age group

Nijmegen

Nijmegen is a 4 day Road Marching event that is completed in the Netherlands. This is the most advanced level of Road Marching as it is the largest marching event in the world.

It is completed in the city of Nijmegen in the eastern Netherlands and participants stay at Camp Heumensoord.The departure time is at 0400 every morning over the 4 day period and they march 40 km.
